The End of Soccer Season!

I can't tell you how happy I am to be done with soccer for the year. No, I am not the mom who looks forward to sitting in the wind or rain or mosquito fog to watch my child "play" soccer. Surprised? Well this season was not a good one and I'm sorry my attitude wasn't up to par. I spent the season watching other people's children play while mine was busy climbing trees, chasing birds or playing in the sand with her bff who ended up on another team. I guess when your friends are not on your team one tends to loose interest pretty quickly.

I also spent the season listening to the parents critique their child's abilities on the field. They are 7 & 8 year olds, NOT the next David Beckham's! There were times when (and I'm sorry but I must confess) I wanted to shove a soccer ball down their throats to make them be quiet! Very un-Christian thoughts of mine. I feel for the poor children who's parents expect them to play perfectly, who's parents sit there saying "when I was younger my coach made me do this and my coach made me do that..." Guess what parents, the kids are out there to have FUN!

So next year when registration comes around, I won't be waiting in line to sign my kids up. Maybe we'll continue with swimming instead.
